Lost and Found Welcome to the University of California, Berkeley Lost and Found. The Police Department on the Berkeley Campus is located in the lower floor of Sproul Hall, (on Bancroft near Telegraph). The campus Lost & Found office is located at #1 Sproul Hall. Hours are: (Hours Summer 2008: During our remodeling, office hours are 10a.m. to 3p.m.) Other times to pick up your item may be arranged by appointment. Contact Mgr. If you find a lost item on the Berkeley Campus it is your responsibility to turn in the item to the UC Berkeley Police Department front counter. NOTE: The Lost and Found is unable to accept found items of clothing. LOST SOMETHING? To report items lost on the campus, please send an email to: Include a very thorough description of the item you have lost. Give size, color, make and model numbers. If you've lost a backpack, describe what was inside. Also give a detailed account of when the item was discovered missing, when you had it last, where you were when you had it, where you think it might have been lost. HAVE WE FOUND YOUR ITEM? Found items can be retrieved from the Lost and Found office. To claim an item you must have the following
WHAT HAPPENS TO UNCLAIMED ITEMS? Found items are held at the Police Department for 90 days, after which time UCPD disposes of them. Buildings throughout campus will sometimes maintain their own collection of non-valuable lost & found items such as books or clothing, but should turn over anything of value to UCPD on a weekly basis. After 90 days, unclaimed valuables may be auctioned. You can view the auction online "propertyroom.com". Any monies or proceeds from unclaimed found items will be distibuted to UC Regents.
