On Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at approximately 10:00 a.m., an 8-year-old girl was sliding off the life sized model of a whale at the Lawrence Hall of Science plaza when she was struck in the leg by a 20 inch crossbow arrow.   The victim was treated at Children’s Hospital and is expected to fully recover.  UCPD and BPD responded to this very serious incident and searched the area for signs of the responsible party who shot the arrow.  UCPD received information from local residents that other arrows have been found in the area indicating that someone has been shooting in the vicinity in the recent past.
