Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested)
BPD crime report # 12-29455

2300 Block of Telegraph
July 28, 2012

On Saturday, July 28 2012 at approximately 6:41 p.m., a strong arm robbery occurred on the 2300 block of Telegraph Avenue.  The male victim, an exchange student, was getting money from an ATM machine when he was approached from behind by the suspect.  The suspect grabbed the victim’s money and fled on foot.  BPD and UCPD responded and searched the area.  A short time later the suspect was apprehended by BPD and positively identified.  The victim was not injured during the encounter.

The suspect is described as:

PERSON, Stanley Carnell, a Black Male, 33 years of age, approximately 6’5” in height, with a dark complexion, clean shaven, wearing a blue jean jacket and black backpack
