Robbery (Suspect Arrested)
UCPD crime report # 12-03482

Campanile Way
July 24, 2012

On Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 7:43 p.m., a robbery occurred on Campanille Way.  The victim, a 28 year old female student, was walking through campus playing a game on her iPhone when she was approached by a male who grabbed her cell phone.  The victim chased the suspect and screamed for help.  Two bystanders followed the suspect and managed to retrieve the victim’s phone.  UCPD  detained a male matching the description of the suspect on the 2100 block of Allston.  The suspect was positively identified by the victim and the witnesses and taken into custody.  The victim was not injured during the encounter.

The suspect was described as:

TECLE, David Daniel, a Black male, 19 years of age, 6’02” in height, 175 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with UC Berkeley written on the front in yellow letters.
