Attempted Robbery (Suspect Arrested)
UCPD crime report # 12-00395

Telegraph Avenue Near Durant Avenue
January 30, 2012

On Thursday, January 26, 2012 at about 8:30 p.m. UCPD responded to Telegraph and Durant on a report of an attempted robbery.  The victim, a twenty year old male student, was standing at the intersection when he was grabbed from behind by the suspect.  The suspect began checking the victim’s pockets.  The victim told the suspect not to touch him and pushed the suspect away.  The suspect grabbed the victim a second time and tried to “frisk” his pocket.  The victim managed to get away from the suspect and called UCPD.  UCPD searched the area and located an individual who matched the description of the suspect.  The suspect was positively identified by the victim and taken into custody.

The suspect is described as:

BARR, Andrew Eugene, a White male, 31 years of age, 5’06” in height, 130 lbs., with brown hair and green eyes, wearing a black beret, black jacket and black jeans.
