UCPD crime report # 12-00219

Deutsch Hall
January 18, 2012

On Monday, January 16, 2012, between the hours of midnight and 3:00 a.m., a hot prowl burglary occurred in the Deutsch Residence Hall.  A burglary suspect entered a dorm room while the two residents were sleeping.  The suspect gained entry via an unlocked door.  At approximately 3:00 a.m. the roommates were awoken by a resident of the floor to let them know that their door was open.  The roommates discovered that various electronics devices and cash had been taken.  UCPD searched the area but were unable to find anyone suspicious.  The victims were unharmed during the incident.

There is no suspect(s) description at this time.

What is a Hot Prowl

A “Hot Prowl” is a burglary when a subject enters, or attempts to enter a residence while someone is there.  A hot prowl burglary is dangerous because of the possible confrontation between the subject and victim.  Please remember to lock your doors and windows.
