On Thursday, October 27th , 2010 at approximately 11:22 p.m. BPD received a report of an attempted strong arm robbery that had just occurred in the 2300 block of Haste Street. The female adult victim, affiliation unknown, was approached by Suspect #1 from a nearby alley. Suspect #1 punched the victim in the head, knocking her to the ground. Suspect #1 then grabbed the victim’s purse and attempted to take it while he continued to punch and kick her. A nearby resident walked outside and yelled at suspect #1. The suspect fled the scene and got into a Maroon older model 4 door vehicle driven by Suspect #2, and drove off westbound on Haste Street. BPD and UCPD searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. The victim suffered moderate injuries to her face. She was treated and released at the scene by the Berkeley Fire Department.
The suspects were described as:
Suspect #1 – A black male in his late 20’s, 6’2 in height, heavy build, wearing a dark beanie cap, dark jacket and dark pants.
