People's Park
August 9, 2010

On Monday, August 9, 2010 at 5:06 a.m. UCPD received a report of a fire in People’s Park.  Officers responded to the scene and found a fire just south of the stage.  Logs and wood were stacked up against a concrete garbage can and the flames were approximately 5 to 6 feet tall.  BFD arrived on scene and extinguished the flames.  A search of the area by UCPD did not yield any suspects.  The fire was contained to the area around the garbage can and did not damage any surrounding vegetation.  The UC Berkeley Fire Marshall was contacted.

There is no suspect(s) description at this time.
