On Tuesday, August 4, 2010, BPD provided UCPD with information regarding an armed robbery which had occurred on Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 at 1:10 p.m. on Durant Avenue near Ellsworth Street. The male victim, affiliation unknown, was walking on Durant and stopped at the stairway of a church on the 2300 block of Durant. The victim was approached by a male who pulled a gun, pointed it at his chest and demanded his property. The victim opened his wallet and the suspect grabbed his cash. After taking the victim’s money the suspect went around the corner of the church and mounted an old rusty men’s mountain bike. The suspect was last seen riding the bicycle westbound on Durant and then out of sight. BPD and UCPD searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The victim was not injuried during this encounter.
The suspect was described as:
A Black male, 25 to 30 years of age, 5’8” in height, 170 lbs., with a dark complexion, short black hair and either a mustache or a goatee, gold caps on his bottom front teeth, wearing a white zip-up hooded sweatshirt with a multicolored design.
