Attempted Strong Arm Robbery

College Avenue and Dwight Way

May 7, 2010

(Suspects arrested)

On Friday, May 7th, 2010 at 5:25 a.m. an attempted strong-arm robbery occurred on College Avenue and Dwight Way. The victim, a 22-year-old unknown-race male Cal student, was walking westbound on Dwight Way near College Avenue when he noticed the suspect’s vehicle, a grey sedan, driving the wrong way on Dwight Way. Suspect # 1 got out of the vehicle and approached the victim from behind. The victim started to run westbound on Dwight Way and Suspect #1 ran after him for a short distance before stopping. Suspect #1 ran back to his vehicle and drove off in an unknown direction. A UCPD Officer observed the suspect vehicle at Telegraph and Ashby Avenue and both suspects were taken into custody. The victim was not injured during this encounter.

The suspects arrested are described as:
Suspect #1 – BENNETT, Nathan a black male, 34 years of age, 5'7" in height, 155 lbs, with black hair, brown eyes, wearing a black sweatshirt with a hood and black pants.

Suspect #2- BRIMM, Wardell, a black male, 44 years of age, 5'7" in height, 170 lbs, wearing a black sweatshirt with a hood and blue jeans.
