Hate Crime
UCPD crime report # 10-00964

East Exterior of Hearst Gym
March 8, 2010

On Monday, March 8, 2010 at 12:13 p.m. UCPD received a report of a hate crime that had occurred at 6:50 a.m. that morning. The victim, a Black 31 year old female employee, was standing along the east side of Hearst Gym when a male exited the northeast door of the building. The victim said “good morning” to the suspect. The suspect walked past the victim, spit on her shoe and called her a racial slur. The suspect was last seen walking westbound on Bancroft. The victim was not injured during the encounter.

The suspect was described as:

A White male in his 50s or 60s, approximately 5’8” in height, 130 lbs., a thin build, unshaven with unkempt short gray hair, wearing dirty blue jeans and carrying a backpack.
