Assault with a Deadly Weapon
BPD crime report # 09-73800

Durant and Telegraph Avenue

December 22, 2009

On Sunday, December 20th, 2009, at 2:40 a.m. an assault with a deadly weapon occurred at the intersection of Durant and Telegraph Avenue. The non-affiliated male victim was stabbed in the upper torso by the suspect during a fight. The suspect fled on foot west bound in the 2400 block of Channing Way. A few minutes later, the suspect was observed by UCPD Officers at Channing Way and Dana Avenue where he was taken into custody and turned over to the Berkeley Police Department. The victim was transported to Highland Hospital.

The suspect arrested is:

Popov, Dimitar, a white male, 38 years of age, not affiliated with the University.
