Attempted Robbery   (Suspects Arrested)


2300 Block of Shattuck Avenue


September 29, 2008

On Friday, September 26, 2008 at approximately 9:36 a.m. BPD was dispatched to investigate a suspicious person outside of the Mechanics Bank on the 2300 block of Shattuck near Bancroft. Upon arrival the officers found two suspects hiding in the bushes outside of the bank and another suspect casing the bank. When the officers approached the suspects a footchase ensued. BPD and UCPD detained two of the suspects near the scene and found the third suspect a short time later hiding in a parking garage on Durant. A 12” knife, a sim ulated firearm, a ski mask and a duffel bag were recovered from the suspects and they admitted to planning a bank robbery. All three suspects were subsequently taken into custody.

The suspects are described as:


Suspect #1 – ANDERSON, Clyde, a Black male, 18 years of age.
Suspect #2 – A Black juvenile male, 13 years of age.
Suspect #3 – A Black juvenile male, 14 years of age.
