Homicide

 

Douglas Parking Lot on Durant Avenue

May 13, 2008

A homicide occurred on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 3:44 p.m. in the Douglas Parking Lot east of Top Dog located on Durant Avenue. The victim was in a verbal altercation with an unidentified group just prior to the shooting. UCPD and BPD responded to calls regarding shots being fired. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Berkeley Fire Department paramedics. A second victim drove himself to Highland Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The suspect is still at large and BPD is investigating this homicide.

Both victims were male and are not affiliated with the University.

UCPD will update our community as we receive more information concerning this crime.
