| UCPD crime report # 08-01873 |
On Sunday, May 4, 2008 at approximately 2:17 AM a UCPD officer was driving on Bancroft Way when he was flagged down by two males in front of the Bears Lair. The two 20 year old victims, an Asian and a White student, told the officer that they had just been robbed. The victims had been walking east through Lower Sproul Plaza after attending an event at Edward Track when they were approached by four males. Suspect #1 simulated a gun under his sweatshirt and demanded property from one of the victims. Suspect #2 approached the other victim and also demanded his property. Both victims complied and all four suspects fled west on foot. A short time later UCPD detained four individuals matching the description of the suspects, they were positively identified and taken into custody. The victims were not injured during the encounter.
