UCPD crime report # 08-01753

Grizzly Peak Boulevard at Signpost 15

April 28, 2008

On Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 2:25 a.m. UCPD received a report of sexual batteries and criminal threats which had occurred approximately an hour earlier on Grizzly Peak at Signpost 15 near the rock wall. A group of seven unaffiliated Hispanic women, all in their early 20s, were parked at the signpost looking out at the view when two vehicles pulled up. The occupants of the vehicles, a group of fourteen 20 year old males, exited their vehicles and approached the victims. One of the suspects asked a victim for a cigarette which she refused. The victims then decided to leave and as they attempted to get into their vehicle one of them was groped inappropriately by a suspect. Another victim was also groped while trying to enter the vehicle. At this point one of the suspects threatened to shoot the victims with a gun. The victims managed to get into their vehicle and flee the scene. BPD and UCPD conducted an area check but were unable to locate the suspects or their vehicles. The victims were not injured during the encounter.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1 - A Hispanic male, in his 20s, 5’07” in height, 150 lbs., wearing a baggy black and white striped shirt.
Suspects #2 through #13 – Hispanic males in their 20s.
Suspect #14 – A Black Male in his 20s.
Suspect Vehicle #1 – A 1993 blue Ford van.
Suspect Vehicle #2 – There is no description at this time.
