Attempted Strong Arm Robbery
UCPD crime report # 08-01668

2200 Block of Durant Avenue

April 22, 2008


On Monday, April 21, 2008 at approximately 2:12 p.m. a UCPD off-duty Officer was driving eastbound on 2200 block of Durant, near the Tang Center, when he noticed an altercation involving a group of 4 juveniles circling an individual who was lying on the ground. The Officer exited the car and identified himself as a police officer. The four suspects immediately fled westbound on Durant and then northbound on Fulton Street. The victim, a 22 year old White male student, told officers he had been walking eastbound on Durant when the four suspects approached him, knocked him to the ground and tried to take his backpack. UCPD notified BPD and officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. The victim was not injured during the encounter.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1 – A Black male, 15-17 years of age, with a dark complexion and black hair, wearing a red sweatshirt and black baggy pants.
Suspect #2 – A Black male, 15-17 years of age, with black hair, wearing a gold sweatshirt.
Suspects #3 & #4 – Black males, 15-17 years of age.
