Attempted Strong Arm Robbery

(Suspect Arrested)

March 7, 2008

On Thursday, March 6, 2008 at approximately 3:05 PM UCPD received an alert from BPD that a battery suspect had just run onto campus at Northgate. A few moments later UCPD received a report of an attempted strong arm robbery taking place on the east side of Haviland Hall. The victim, a White 37 year old UC male employee, was approached by an individual matching the battery suspect’s description who demanded his property. UCPD Officers responded to the scene and arrested the suspect. The victim was not injured during the encounter.

The suspect is described as:

KRAUS, Mark Saburo, a White male, 23 years of age, and a UC Berkeley Student.
