On October 28, 2006 at 2:40 AM the Berkeley Police Department responded to an aggravated assault which had just occurred at the intersection of Regent Street and Dwight Way. The victim, a 19 year old male UC student, was approached by a group of five (5) high-school aged Hispanic males. One of the group members struck the victim with a skateboard. The group then left the scene of the assault traveling southbound towards Derby Street. The victim sustained minor trauma and was transported to Alta Bates Hospital for further treatment. BPD and UCPD searched the area but did not locate the suspects.
The suspects are described by the victim as:
Suspect #1 – A Hispanic male, 5’3” to 5’7” in height, wearing a white football jersey.
Suspect #2 – A Hispanic male, 5’3” to 5’7” in height, wearing a black T-shirt.
Suspect #3, #4 & #5 – Hispanic males, 5’3” to 5’7” in height, wearing dark clothing.
