Attempted Strong Arm Robberies


2200 & 2300 Block of Dwight Way
 

October 10, 2006
 

On Saturday, October 7th, at about 11:39PM, the Berkeley Police Department (BPD) responded to a report of an attempted strong arm robbery at the 2200 block of Dwight between Fulton and Ellsworth. The victims, 2 White females and a White male were walking along Dwight when they were confronted by 3 males in their twenties.  Suspect #1 demanded and then grabbed for one of the victim’s purse.  The victim resisted and walked away from the suspects.  Approximately, 15 minutes later, at 11:57 PM, the BPD received another report of an attempted strong arm robbery at the 2300 block of Dwight.  The same suspects approached two males, Asian and White, walking on Dwight near Ellsworth and tried to grab their personal property.  These victims also resisted and the suspects left the scene on foot heading northbound on Dana.  None of the victims were harmed during their encounter with the suspects.  BPD and UCPD conducted a search of the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.

The victims described the suspects as:

Suspect #1 – A White male, approximately 5’5” in height, 140 lbs., with a muscular build, wearing a black t-shirt and baggy jeans.

Suspect #2 – A Black male, approximately 6’5” in height with a large build, wearing a baggy jacket, red boxer shorts and a diamond earring.

Suspect #3 - A White male, approximately 6’2” in height with a thin build, with long hair on the top and shaved sides.
