Brandishing a Weapon (Suspect Arrested)

Big "C" Trail

September 14, 2006

On September 14th, 2006 at about 12:23 AM, UCPD received a report of a man with a gun on the Big “C” trail above Memorial Stadium.  A group of male students who were at the Big “C” were approached by a group of males who seemed to be intoxicated.  The group of males was belligerent towards the students and shoved one of the students.  One member of the group pulled a handgun from his waistband, verbally threatened the students and told the students to leave the scene.  Upon seeing the gun the students complied and proceeded down the path.  UCPD was notified responded to the scene.  A search of the area did not produce the brandishing suspect with gun or additional group members. Officers interviewed the students and one of them identified the brandishing suspect as a student of the university.  They were able to provide a name and UCPD then located and arrested the suspect.  The suspect was charged with the following violations:  brandishing a weapon, possession of a firearm on a university campus and carrying a concealed weapon.

The suspect is:
MALEEH, Raed Youssef, 23 years of age, 5’11”, with a slight build, black hair and brown eyes, wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans
