Homicide (Shooting Victim transported to Sorority Dies)

September 5, 2006

On Monday, September 4, 2006 a friend employed at the Alpha Omicron Pi Sigma House found the victim and transported him to the sorority without realizing his medical condition.   At the sorority, the friend realized the situation was serious and called 911 at about 2:32 AM.  Berkeley Police and Fire Departments responded and found the victim, a 20-25 year old male, in shock and unconscious.  BFD and BPD determined that the unconscious victim was suffering from a gun shot wound.  Paramedics tried to revive the victim however they were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.

BPD Homicide Unit is investigating and the case is in the preliminary stages.  At this time there is no indication as to where the shooting took place and there is no suspect(s) description.
