Strong Arm Robbery (Suspects Arrested)

2400 Block of Channing Way

August 9, 2006

On Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at 7:20 PM a 20 year old white female was the victim of a strong arm robbery on the south side of residential Unit III.  The victim was walking eastbound on the 2400 block of Channing Way when she was grabbed by the back of the neck and forcefully thrown to the ground.  While on the ground she was surrounded by three juveniles who seized her purse.  The suspects then fled westbound on Channing and then northbound on Dana Street.  A passerby responded to the victim’s screams and dialed 642-3333, UCPD’s emergency number for cell phones.  A UCPD Officer spotted three individuals matching the suspects’ description on Bancroft Way near Edwards Track.  The Officer detained the individuals who were in possession of the victim’s property, were positively identified by the victim, and were subsequently taken into custody.  The victim suffered minor injuries during the attack. 

The suspects arrested were identified as:

Suspect #1 – Hispanic Male, 16 years of age, 5’10” tall, 168 lbs., wearing eye glasses, a white tee shirt, blue jeans and a red baseball cap.

Suspect #2 – Hispanic Male, 14 years of age, 5’6” tall, 110 lbs., small in stature, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

Suspect #3 – Hispanic Male, 14 years of age, 5’9” tall, 146 lbs., wearing a black “hoody” and blue jeans.
