Armed Robbery

Channing Way & Ellsworth Street

July 31, 2006

On Saturday, July 29, 2006 at about 10:39 PM, Berkeley Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Channing Way and Ellsworth Street.  An elderly White couple was walking eastbound on Channing when they were approached by the suspect, a Black male.  The suspect displayed a black pistol and demanded their property.  The couple gave him their property and the suspect left the scene walking westbound on Channing.  The suspect was last seen turning south onto Atherton.  The victims were not harmed during the encounter.  UCPD and BPD searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

The victims described the suspect as:

A Black Male, in his 20s, approximately 6’00” in height, with a slender build and black hair, wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans
