Sexual Battery (Suspect Arrested)

Campus and South of Campus Locations

On Monday, July 17, 2006 UCPD began receiving the first of several reports of a suspect committing sexual batteries on the main UCB campus, and in the south of campus area including Alta Bates Hospital. The suspect would approach young men and ask them to participate in a fitness survey.

A physical description of the suspect was given to Hearst Gymnasium staff members and they were asked to contact UCPD immediately if they spotted the suspect. On July 21, 2006 an employee observed the suspect entering the Gym and notified UCPD. UCPD Officers located, detained and arrested the suspect for sexual battery and unauthorized possession and use of a University key.

The suspect arrested is:

SIMMONDS, Kevin Manasseh (also goes by the alias BROWN, David “Dave”); a Black male, 33 years of age, 5’8”, 150 lbs., with brown eyes and close cropped black hair
