Aggravated Assault

Lower Sproul Plaza

July 12, 2006

At approximately 10:02 AM, on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, UCPD received a report of an aggravated assault that had just occurred at Lower Sproul Plaza.  The victim, a 33 year old White male, was walking southbound through the ASUC breezeway towards Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union.  A white male ran down the steps that connect Lower and Upper Sproul Plaza and struck the victim once with a fist or an elbow on the left side of his face.  The suspect then ran westbound towards Grinnell Pathway.  UCPD responded but was unable to locate the suspect.  The victim suffered a minor injury to his face and a broken tooth.

The victim described the suspect as:

A White Male, 5’9” in his early 20s, with medium length brown hair, wearing a blue sweater or jacket with a 2” wide white stripe on both sleeves.
