On Thursday, June 22, 2006 at approximately 11:30 PM, the Berkeley Police Department responded to a report of a purse snatch in the 2300 block of Channing Way.  The victim, a 47 year old asian female, was walking west of Unit III when she felt a tap on  the shoulder.  When the victim turned around to see who tapped her a black female grabbed her purse and ran away.  The victim was not harmed during the incident.

The victim described the suspect as:

A Black female, 20-30 years of age, 5’05” with a heavy build, wearing a gray sweatshirt with yellow writing and blue pants.
