On June 8, 2006 at approximately 4:15 PM, the Albany Police Department responded to the area of Buchanan and Pierce regarding multiple reports of shots being fired near the eastbound Interstate 80 off ramp in Albany. Witnesses at the scene reported that a gray Dodge Magnum and a purple Lexus were traveling east bound on Buchanan when occupants in the Magnum opened fire on the Lexus. The witnesses reported that the Lexus’ windows were shattered and there were bullet holes in the trunk. The suspects’ vehicle made a U-turn at San Pablo Avenue and proceeded west bound on Buchanan toward the I-80 freeway on ramp. The victim’s vehicle continued south bound on San Pablo. Police were unable to locate either vehicle. Witnesses were unable to give a description of the victim and it is unknown whether the victim was struck by the gun fire. Albany Police recovered 9mm empty casings and at least two vehicles along Buchanan were hit by gun fire.
The suspects were described as follows:
Suspect #1: A Black balding male, twenty to thirty years old
Suspect #2: A Black male, twenty to thirty years old wearing a black ball cap.
