Strong Arm Robbery (Suspects Arrested)

2100 Block of Haste

May 30, 2006

On Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 1:54 AM, Berkeley and UC Police Departments responded to a strong-arm robbery that had just occurred.  The victim, a white female in her early 20s, was walking along the 2100 block of Haste talking on her cell phone.  She was approached by four females who asked to use her phone.  She gave them the phone and they proceeded to walk away.  The victim ran after the suspects, where upon they physically assaulted her.  The suspects were last seen walking eastbound on Haste Street.

UCPD and BPD responded to the scene and searched the area.  A UC police officer saw three females and a male walking southbound on Fulton Street.   As he approached the group they began to run towards some bushes.  The officer intercepted the group, at which point, he was joined by other officers.  The females were positively identified by the victim.  During a search of the suspects the officers found a “bebe” gun, which is a replica of a Glock handgun.  The three suspects were arrested.  The victim did not require medical attention.

The victims described the suspects as:

Suspects #1, #2 and #3 were Black females, between the ages of 16 and 18.
