On April 8, 2006 at about 4:05AM, the Berkeley Police Department (BPD) responded to a report of an armed robbery at Dwight Way and Hillegass Avenue. The suspect, holding a small folding knife, approached a male victim and demanded his personal property. The victim gave the suspect cash. Aproximately one minute later, at 4:06AM, the BPD received another report of an armed robbery at Dwight Way and Telegraph Avenue. The victim, a female accompanied by two companions, was approached by someone matching the previous robbery suspect's description. The suspect demanded her personal property. The victim gave the suspect a small amount of cash. Neither victim was harmed during their encounter. BPD and UCPD conducted a search of the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.
The victim described the suspect as:
A Black Male, early twenties, 5'4" to 5'6", 130 to 150 lbs., wearing a light stoned earring in his left ear and a gold jacket and holding an umbrella
