(Suspect Arrested)

Piedmont Avenue and Channing Way October 3, 2005

On October 3, 2005 at about 12:55 AM, UCPD received a report of a battery in progress at Piedmont Avenue and Channing Way. One of two victims was down on the ground with five males battering him. Prior to police arriving the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle heading southbound on Piedmont Avenue. UCPD officers contacted victims and witness for a suspect description.  Seven individuals were detained near Haste Street and College Avenue; four of the suspects were positively identified, arrested and booked in to the Berkeley City Jail
