Commercial Burglary Arrest
Dana Street and Bancroft WayOctober 3, 2005
On September 29, 2005 at about 7:00 PM, a UCPD Officer was on routine patrol driving westbound on Bancroft Way, approaching Telegraph Avenue. The officer observed a vehicle occupied with several subjects traveling northbound on Telegraph Avenue at a high rate of speed. The officer stopped the vehicle on Dana Street just south of Bancroft Way. As the officer took a closer look inside the vehicle, he noticed a large amount of new clothing with "GAP" labels and price tags still attached. It was discovered later that the occupants of the vehicle had entered the Gap store located on Telegraph Avenue and taken an entire rack of clothing. All the suspects were taken into custody and booked at the Berkeley City Jail.
