Assault with a Deadly Weapon

South Parking Lot of Memorial Stadium October 3, 2005

On October 1, 2005 at about 4:07 PM, a UCPD Officer assigned to work the Cal - Arizona football game was the victim of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon (automobile).  Assigned to work the south parking lot of Memorial stadium, a UCPD officer observed a vehicle with several occupants speed into the parking lot.  Before the officer could reach the vehicle, all of the passengers exited the vehicle leaving just the driver. The officer contacted driver who was still seated inside the vehicle and requested his identification. 

The suspect put the car in reverse and started going backwards, pushing the officer backwards several feet. The suspect traveled back about 20 feet and changed gears, now speeding towards the officer.  The officer jumped out of the path of the vehicle as it sped past eastbound on Panoramic towards Canyon Road.  Responding officers pursued the suspect who abandoned the vehicle nearby and ran away on foot.  Officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him.  The first officer was not injured.  The vehicle which was stolen, contained a firearm inside.


The suspect is described as follows:

Suspect #1 – A White Male, with brown shoulder length hair and some facial hair, 5'08" to 5'11" tall, 135 to 155 pounds, wearing a light color white striped shirt and dark pants.
