Bicycle Theft Information Wanted
Moffitt Library

November 19, 2004

On November 18th, 2004 at about 4:40 PM, a plain clothed UCPD officer noticed a bicycle theft in progress near Moffitt Library. The suspect was able to successfully steal the bicycle, so the officer gave chase on foot, identified himself as a police officer, and ordered the suspect to stop. However, the suspect attempted to evade the officer on the bicycle. The officer was able to catch and apprehend the suspect, but the suspect fell to the ground and suffered an injury to his head. The officer immediately summoned Emergency Medical Services, and the suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
