Attempted Robbery/BatteryTelegraph Ave. and Durant Ave.September 3, 2004
On September 3rd, 2004, at approximately 1:45 AM, a woman was the victim of an attempted robbery, and her friend the victim of battery. The victim was standing with her friend on Telegraph Ave. near Durant Ave., when a suspect approached and attempted to take the victim’s purse. The friend intervened, and was struck by the suspect. Nothing was taken, and the suspect fled south on Telegraph Ave. The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.
BPD and UCPD officers responded and searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.
The victims described the suspects as follows:
A Hispanic Male, 20's, long ponytail, carrying a backpack. He was possibly in the company of other unknown race males.
