On January 25, 2004 at about 1:15AM, a UC Berkeley student was sitting in her parked car near Dana Street and Bancroft Way. A male subject approached the student's vehicle and opened her unlocked driver's side door. The suspect then produced a knife and forced the victim to drive with him to a local area bank, where he used the victim's ATM card to withdraw cash. The suspect drove the victim to a remote location before abandoning her and the vehicle. The victim was not injured during the commission of the crime.
The suspect is described as a Black male, 30-40 years, 5'08" - 5'10", medium build, dark eyes, wearing a dark "beanie" style cap, a black shirt, black jeans and a black hooded ¾ length vinyl raincoat. He was last seen leaving the scene on foot.
